The Willow Creek Restoration plan will “daylight” the creek in five phases, from its headwaters above Highway 101 to Richardson Bay. The first phase includes the design, engineering and construction of a 600-900 foot channel running along the north side of the Marin City Sausalito School District campus.
Daylighting Willow Creek will renew critical infrastructure while restoring urban ecology and reconnecting the community to this vital waterway. Restored wetlands protect San Francisco Bay and boost biodiversity. Walking paths, bridges, and public spaces along the creek offer a lasting community asset.
You can learn more about the project and get involved by downloading technical documents like the Willow Creek Watershed Map and plan reports from our site, signing up for our newsletter for updates on meetings, creek walks, and volunteer opportunities, volunteering with restoration and education efforts, or donating to sustain planning, design and restoration work.
